"Smart" Services Overview

Since 1992 there has been an explosion in demand for high-speed telecommunications services. The growth of the Internet has created new applications broadly known as electronic commerce, which are about to revolutionize business processes. These multimedia applications require high speed networks for fast downloads. The cost of high-speed networks is relatively high based on today’s model for network services. The old model is based on silo connectivity of users back to a central location and it is generally the same structure regardless of the size of the enterprise. The old model put small and medium-sized businesses at a significant cost disadvantage because it fails to provide bandwidth sharing, even though technology is available to facilitate this approach.

.

Tomorrow's model is about to change this. The new model is about making buildings work better for tenants. This is an area where owners are exploring their responsibilities towards the maintaining superior communication infrastructures in their buildings, on behalf of tenants.

Sharing of multimedia information technology and telecommunication services is emerging in business and residential environments as one of the most effective means to deliver low-cost and high performance services.

Convergence of telecommunications and data networking technologies has fueled strong interest in the shared resources model. User interest and development activities have both increased for applications that are improved by integration of technology, including voice, data, image and video signals. This has created the opportunity to market these new technologies and associated systems integration skills to a wider base of clients, including building owners, small and medium-sized businesses plus home-owners and clients in multiple unit residential dwellings .

For the first time, building owners are now part of the communications marketing chain, and MenaTel Systems Inc. has developed a service package to make buildings "Smarter".

Global competition and "right-sizing" are key strategies for success in the nineties. Businesses are being pulled toward ways of operating more efficiently, doing more with fewer resources. One consequence is the rapidly growing number of people working in their home full-or part-time.

Employers are offering workers greater flexibility in working conditions via telecommuting. They are trying out new concepts like virtual offices with only a few core employees located on-site and with others telecommuting from home. This program appears to be working well, increasing productivity, making employees happier, saving on office space overheads and attracting new highly qualified professionals.

The bottom line is that the shared model that MenaTel Systems Inc. offers is a way to get the best communication services into the work-place affordably regardless of where the workplace resides. We provide affordable technologies to make an office building, or a new residential home, or a high-rise condominium, into a "Smart" building.
